Senior capital markets leader tapped to establish and grow institutional fixed income trading and sales business

ATB Capital Markets Inc. is pleased to announce John McKeown has joined the firm as Managing Director and Head of Fixed Income Trading. John brings a significant depth of knowledge, strong domestic and global relationships, and a proven track record of exceptional client service. 

As a recognized leader with a background at major Canadian financial institutions, John will be responsible for building and overseeing ATB Capital Markets’ institutional fixed income trading and sales business.

John brings more than 25 years of experience in trading fixed income government spreads, including managing a global team of fixed income traders in a high profile capital markets business unit. His extensive experience, along with his demonstrated commitment to building long-term relationships at a senior level with issuers and clients, aligns well with the firm’s ambitious growth objectives.

Prior to joining ATB, John was Managing Director and Global Head of Government Spread Product Fixed Income Trading at a Canadian Schedule A bank.

John’s educational credentials include a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Economics from York University. He also holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation.

John has supported a variety of charities, with a special focus on children’s charities. He is currently a board member of Amici Children’s Camp Charity in Ontario.
